Interesting commentary, and I agree: San Francisco is a world-class city that deserves a world-class newspaper. The Chronicle does not cut it.

Take this unsolicited advice for what it is worth, and I say this with the utmost sincerity and am not trying to knock you down: If you are going to bash a newspaper, or even offer constructive criticism, use perfect grammar and spelling, etc. Write your posts in AP style, as though they were newspaper articles. Otherwise it reads like the equivalent of a fat person telling Barry Bonds to get in shape.

Good luck with the class. And best wishes getting published.

But he is a little chubby. Thanks for the advice.

the nice thing about blogs is they don't have to use anal ap style. I like informal writing. even newspapers are using more first person stories.
